Our Discord Bot

What the RexiMemo Discord bot does, its public commands, how account linking works, and how the Discord integration is kept secure.

The RexiMemo Discord bot connects a small number of RexiMemo features with the official RexiMemo Discord server. The RexiMemo Discord bot is deliberately focused: the RexiMemo website remains the main place for accounts, Flipnotes and settings, while the discord bot provides account linking and a small set of documented Discord commands.

A focused integration, not a second RexiMemo client

Our discord bot is not intended to reproduce the RexiMemo website inside Discord. Most normal RexiMemo actions still happen on the website or in Flipnote Studio. The commands documented on this page are the public commands users should rely on.

What the RexiMemo Discord bot currently does

  • Discord account linking. The RexiMemo Discord bot helps prove that a Discord identity belongs to the person linking it to a RexiMemo account.
  • Discord-started link requests. Our discord bot can start the account-linking flow from Discord. RexiMemo then shows the pending request in Settings → Connections so the signed-in RexiMemo account owner can approve or deny it.
  • Website-started link confirmation. When linking begins on the RexiMemo website, the discord bot provides the Discord-side approval step using .rexi approve or .rexi deny.
  • Drawing Tickets. Once your Discord identity is linked to your RexiMemo account, .rexi draw lets you use RexiMemo's Drawing Ticket feature from Discord instead of opening the ticket page on the website.
  • Optional Discord notifications. You can opt in from Settings → Connections or with .rexi notifications on. RexiMemo creates or reuses a private notifications channel for your linked Discord account and mirrors RexiMemo notifications there. This is disabled by default. Read the Discord notifications guide →
  • Link-result updates. After a Discord link is approved or denied, the discord bot can update the Discord-side verification flow so the request does not remain pending after RexiMemo has already resolved it.

Public commands

The currently documented public commands for the discord bot are:

  • .rexi link — starts the Discord-side account-linking flow. Follow the discord bot's prompts, then sign in to the RexiMemo account you intend to connect and open Settings → Connections to review the pending request. Only approve a request you personally started.
  • .rexi draw — uses your RexiMemo Drawing Ticket from Discord when your Discord identity is linked to a RexiMemo account. It uses the same ticket balance, cooldown and result as the website; it is not a separate Discord-only ticket.
  • .rexi approve — approves the active website-started Discord link request for your Discord identity.
  • .rexi deny — rejects that active website-started link request without connecting the accounts.
  • .rexi notifications on, off or status — enables, disables or checks optional RexiMemo notification delivery through your private Discord notifications channel.

.rexi draw ticket rules

  • Cooldown: one Drawing Ticket can be used every 6 hours.
  • Shared ticket: the command uses the same account ticket and result system as the website and DSi.
  • Every draw counts: the six-hour cooldown starts after the draw regardless of its outcome.

Because .rexi draw acts on a RexiMemo account, link your Discord identity first. The discord bot should never need your RexiMemo password, browser session cookie, passkey secret or API key to do this.

Linking your Discord account from RexiMemo

You must already be a member of the official RexiMemo Discord server before starting the normal website link flow.

  1. Sign in to RexiMemo and open Settings → Connections.
  2. Enter your Discord username and choose the option to link your Discord account.
  3. RexiMemo asks the RexiMemo Discord bot to find that Discord user in the official server and create a pending confirmation request.
  4. Open the verification area in Discord and follow the message from the discord bot.
  5. Reply with .rexi approve to approve the request, or .rexi deny to reject it.
  6. The website-started request expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, start a new request instead of trying to reuse the old one.
Only approve a request you started

If the RexiMemo Discord bot asks you to approve a link you were not expecting, use .rexi deny and do not continue. A legitimate link should be expected by the person who controls both accounts.

Starting account linking with .rexi link

.rexi link is the counterpart to starting from the RexiMemo website. Use it in the official RexiMemo Discord server to begin the Discord-side linking flow, then follow the instructions our discord bot gives you. Once RexiMemo has a pending request for the intended account, the signed-in RexiMemo user reviews it from Settings → Connections.

The website shows the Discord username attached to the pending request and provides Approve link and Deny controls. Approve only if you personally started .rexi link. If the request is unfamiliar, deny it.

One Discord identity per RexiMemo account

The account-link system is designed to be one-to-one. RexiMemo rejects a request when the RexiMemo account is already linked to a Discord account, when the Discord account is already linked elsewhere, or when another request is already pending for that account.

Once the connection succeeds, RexiMemo stores the Discord identity needed to show and manage that connection in Settings. The RexiMemo Discord bot does not need your RexiMemo password, browser session cookie, passkey private material or API key to perform account linking.

Using .rexi draw

.rexi draw is a convenience command for people who have already linked Discord to RexiMemo. The draw belongs to the linked RexiMemo account: it uses the same ticket cooldown as Draw Ticket on the website and any account changes from the result are applied to that RexiMemo account automatically.

Using the command does not grant an extra draw. If the ticket is still on cooldown because you drew on the website or previously used .rexi draw, the same cooldown still applies. Likewise, drawing in Discord starts the cooldown that you will then see on the website.

What our discord bot does not do

  • Our discord bot does not make Discord mandatory for normal RexiMemo or Flipnote Studio use.
  • The RexiMemo Discord bot does not automatically link your accounts just because you joined the server.
  • The discord bot does not need your RexiMemo password, API key, session cookie or passkey secret.
  • Our discord bot is not a replacement for the RexiMemo website, Support Center or moderator portal.
  • The RexiMemo Discord bot is not the server's ModMail system. For private moderator conversations, use the ModMail process described in the Discord community guide.
  • The discord bot does not currently provide documented public commands for uploading Flipnotes, adding stars directly, following creators, changing themes, changing account settings or performing other ordinary website actions.

Privacy and data handling

Discord is a separate service with its own terms and privacy practices. When you interact with the RexiMemo Discord bot in Discord, Discord processes the Discord-side interaction. RexiMemo separately stores the account-link information needed to maintain the connection and the normal RexiMemo account state affected by commands such as .rexi draw. If you enable Discord notifications, the text of notifications sent to you is also copied into your private Discord notification channel and is therefore processed by Discord.

Read the Privacy Policy for the current details about RexiMemo's Discord integrations, public Discord presence widgets and other third-party processing.

If account linking fails

RexiMemo deliberately fails closed. If the RexiMemo Discord bot cannot safely confirm the requested Discord member, the verification area is unavailable, the account is already linked, or the discord bot is temporarily unavailable, RexiMemo does not silently create the connection.

  • “You need to be in the RexiMemo Discord server”: join the official server with the Discord account you are trying to link, then try again.
  • A request is already pending: finish or wait for the current request rather than starting several at once.
  • The Discord or RexiMemo account is already linked elsewhere: do not keep retrying. Check the account shown in Settings and contact support if the connection is unexpected.
  • The verification area or Discord integration is unavailable: wait and try again later. RexiMemo will not bypass verification just to complete the link.
  • The 10-minute website-started request expired: create a fresh request from Settings.

Security checklist

  • Only approve a Discord link that you personally started.
  • Make sure you are using the official RexiMemo Discord server.
  • Never send passwords, session cookies, API keys, migration archives or passkey secrets to the RexiMemo Discord bot or to somebody claiming to be staff.
  • If a request appears unexpectedly, deny it first and ask staff for help through the normal support route.
  • If you need private moderation help, use ModMail rather than posting sensitive account information in a public Discord conversation.
