Weekly Contests are regular RexiMemo events where everyone is given a topic and challenged to make a Flipnote around it. Once entries close, participants vote for their favourite entry and a winner is chosen.
Weekly Contests are available to everyone with a RexiMemo account. Taking part is optional, so you will need to opt in before entering or voting.
How to opt in
You can join Weekly Contests from the Contests page or from your RexiMemo notification settings.
If your Discord account is linked to RexiMemo, you can also use:

You do not have to be opted in before the topic is published. If entries are still open when you join, you can enter the current contest normally. If entries have already closed but voting is still open, you can still vote, but you cannot submit an entry for that contest.
When a new contest starts
Most Weekly Contests are planned to begin on Mondays. Each contest has its own topic, entry deadline, voting deadline and prize, so check the contest page for the exact times.
When a contest is published, opted-in users receive a RexiMemo notification containing the topic. The current contest also appears on the Contests page.
If you use RexiMemo through Flipnote Studio on a Nintendo DSi, the contest topic can also appear in your RexiMemo mail. Entering and voting are done through the RexiMemo website.
Making your entry
Read the topic carefully before making your Flipnote. Some contests may have additional rules or restrictions written on the contest page.
When your Flipnote is ready, upload it to RexiMemo and open the current contest. While entries are open, choose Choose a Flipnote under the entry section.
A gallery will open showing the Flipnotes that are eligible for that contest. Select the one you want to enter and confirm your choice.
You can only have one entry in each contest. Until entries close, you can replace your entry with another eligible Flipnote or withdraw it completely.
Which Flipnotes can be entered?
Contest entries must be public Flipnotes on RexiMemo. A private or unlisted Flipnote cannot be submitted.
Some contests also require the Flipnote to have been posted after that week's topic was published. When this rule is enabled, older Flipnotes will not appear in the entry picker.
The contest page will tell you if the current topic has this restriction.
Make sure your Flipnote has been uploaded publicly and meets any date restriction shown on the contest page. If the contest only accepts new Flipnotes, you will need to upload one after the topic was published.
What happens when entries close?
Once the entry deadline passes, new entries and changes to existing entries are closed. The contest then moves into voting.
If you are opted in and have not voted yet, RexiMemo can show a voting reminder at the top of the website home page. Open the contest to see all eligible entries.
Each entry has a View Flipnote button so you can watch it before deciding how to vote.
Voting
Each opted-in user gets one vote in a contest. You cannot vote for your own entry.
When you choose an entry, RexiMemo will ask you to confirm your choice before the vote is submitted.
Once your vote has been submitted, it cannot be changed or undone.
You do not need to have entered a Flipnote yourself to vote. You only need to be opted in before voting closes.
Choosing the winner
When voting closes, the entry with the highest valid vote total wins.
If the result cannot be decided automatically, such as when the leading entries are tied, RexiMemo staff can resolve the result before the prize is issued.
Once a winner has been confirmed, opted-in users receive a result notification showing the winning Flipnote and its creator. On the DSi client, the result notification can link to the creator and let you open or play the winning Flipnote.
Prizes
The prize is shown on the contest page before you enter. A contest may award coloured Stars or one week of Supporter+.
Star prizes are added directly to the winner's RexiMemo account.
If the prize is one week of Supporter+, the winner receives seven days of Supporter+ access. If they already have active Supporter+ access, their contest-earned time is kept so it is not wasted by overlapping with their existing access.
Contest notifications
Opted-in users can receive RexiMemo notifications for important contest updates, including a newly published topic and the final winner.
RexiMemo staff can also send a contest message to everyone who is currently opted in. These may be used for deadline changes, reminders or other important updates.
Unread contest notifications may also appear at the top of the RexiMemo home page so they are easier to spot.
Using Weekly Contests with Discord
If your Discord account is linked to RexiMemo, opting in also gives you the Weekly Contests role on the RexiMemo Discord server. If you link Discord after you have already opted in, the role will be added when your account is synchronised.
Disabling Weekly Contests removes your contest opt-in and the related Discord role.
Can I still use RexiMemo without joining?
Yes. Weekly Contests are completely optional. You can continue using RexiMemo normally without opting in, and you can leave or join again whenever you want.
