Blocking is a way to separate your RexiMemo account from another user across both the website and the Flipnote Studio client. It hides content and activity in both directions without deleting either account or its Flipnotes.
How to block or unblock somebody
Open the user's Creator's Room and choose Block. The same block applies whether you set it from the RexiMemo website or from the DSi client. If you later want to reverse it, open that Creator's Room again and choose Unblock.
What blocking changes
- Flipnotes are hidden in both directions. Their Flipnotes are removed from the views and lists you browse, and your Flipnotes are hidden from them.
- Comments are hidden in both directions. Comments from either account are not shown to the other account.
- Notifications between the two accounts are removed and suppressed. New activity from one account will not create visible notifications for the other while the block exists.
- Following relationships are removed. Existing follows and Creator upload-notification subscriptions are removed in both directions.
- Direct interactions are blocked. The two accounts cannot star, comment on, favorite, follow, enable upload notifications for, or send new Flipnote collaboration invitations to each other.
- Pending collaboration invitations are canceled. An unanswered collaboration invitation between the two users is removed when the block is created.
What happens to Creator's Rooms?
If you blocked them, you can still open their Creator's Room so you have somewhere to manage the block. RexiMemo strips the room down: their profile picture, bio, console information, statistics and Flipnote content are not shown. The page provides the option to unblock them.
If they blocked you, their Creator's Room behaves like a page that does not exist and returns the normal not-found page. This also applies if both accounts have blocked each other.
What happens after unblocking?
Unblocking does not recreate relationships that were removed when the block was made. If you want to follow the user again or turn their upload notifications back on, you must do that manually. Content that is otherwise public can become visible again after the block is removed.
Blocking is different from reporting
Blocking is a personal boundary between two accounts; it does not report the other user to RexiMemo staff or apply a moderation penalty. If somebody is harassing you, threatening you, or posting content that breaks the Terms of Use, use the appropriate report tools as well so the moderation team can review it.
Flipnotes and comments are hidden between the two accounts while the block exists. Blocking is not the same as deleting content or removing an account from RexiMemo.
