The official RexiMemo Discord is the community space for Flipnote creators, RexiMemo users and people who want help with the service. Join at discord.gg/K5mKWvaruF. You can use RexiMemo and Flipnote Studio without Discord; the server is an optional community and support space, except that linking a Discord account naturally requires you to be a member.
This guide explains the server and summarizes the rules so you know what to expect. The current messages in #📜-server-rules govern interactions in the Discord server. If a rule here and the live rules ever differ, follow the live rules. Joining the server means agreeing to them.
Where to start
- Read
#🏠-welcome. The welcome channel explains what RexiMemo is, points new members toward the rest of the server, and introduces the community. - Read
#📜-server-rulesbefore chatting. The rules apply across text channels, voice channels, threads, forum posts and other server interactions. - Choose your roles.
#🎭-self-rolesis where members can pick available community roles. The exact role choices can change over time. - Introduce yourself if you want to.
#🙋-introductionsis available for new members who want to say hello. Do not feel pressured to share real-world identifying information. - Keep an eye on announcements. Announcement and fixes/features channels are used for important RexiMemo news, service changes and development updates.
Channel names and layout can evolve as the server grows. If a channel mentioned here has moved or been renamed, use the current server sidebar and pinned messages as the authoritative guide.
What the Discord is for
The server is both a RexiMemo support space and a broader Flipnote community. Typical uses include:
- Creativity chat and Flipnote discussion: talk about animation, Flipnote Studio, works in progress, ideas and other creative topics.
- RexiMemo support: ask for help with accounts, migrations, console connection problems, site behaviour, moderation questions and other service issues.
- Feedback: the feedback area is used for suggestions and longer discussions about possible improvements. Existing threads may already cover the idea you have, so check before opening a duplicate.
- Announcements and development: follow updates about fixes, features and other service changes.
- Community conversation: meet other Flipnote users, share work and take part in community activities when they are running.
Server rules, in plain language
The full wording lives in #📜-server-rules. In practical terms, the current rules require members to:
- Follow Discord's rules too. You must follow the Discord Community Guidelines and Discord Terms of Service, including Discord's minimum-age requirements.
- Be respectful. Harassment, bullying and threats are not acceptable. Disagreement is fine; targeting people is not.
- Protect privacy. Do not post somebody else's private or identifying information without permission. This includes addresses, financial information, private photos, personal accounts and similar sensitive information.
- Do not post hate speech or hateful symbols. Content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on protected characteristics is not permitted.
- Mind your language. Slurs and “ironic” or joking language that is still offensive or harmful are not acceptable just because they were framed as a joke.
- No violent extremism. Do not glorify or encourage extremist violence or use the server to spread material that promotes it.
- Keep it PG-13. Sexually explicit material or content intended primarily for sexual gratification does not belong in the server.
- The server is not a crisis service. RexiMemo members and moderators are not equipped to manage suicide or self-harm crises. If you need immediate or specialist help, use a professional service; Findahelpline can help locate resources in many countries.
- No graphic violent content. Do not post graphic images or video of death, serious injury or detailed harm to people or animals, or material that glorifies suicide or self-harm.
RexiMemo has a standing community reminder not to turn discussion into constant bashing of Sudomemo. Healthy criticism and ordinary comparison are allowed, but keep it respectful and do not make hostility toward another Flipnote community the focus of the server.
Getting help and contacting staff
If you need help, you can ask in the appropriate support/community area or contact ModMail when the issue needs moderator attention. ModMail is appropriate for moderation questions, account concerns, sensitive context that should not be debated publicly, or when a staff member has asked you to continue the conversation privately.
For technical support, include useful non-secret details: your RexiMemo username, what you were trying to do, the exact error code or message, and the page or Flipnote Studio screen where it happened. For console problems, the console model and FSID can help if you are comfortable sharing that public creator identifier. The separate Contacting RexiMemo support guide explains what information is most useful.
Do not post your RexiMemo password, API key, session cookie, passkey material, private migration archive or other credentials in a public channel or unsolicited DM. Staff do not need your password to investigate an account problem.
Voice channels
The server includes voice areas for live conversation. The current layout includes Talk, Talk² and AFK, plus a #no-mic text channel for people taking part around voice chat without using a microphone. The same respect, privacy and content rules apply in and around voice channels.
Feedback and community channels
The Creator's Room section includes areas such as new-user information, self-roles, feedback and introductions. Feedback may use threads or forum-style posts for individual ideas, so one suggestion can have its own discussion without taking over a general chat. Use descriptive titles and add enough context for other members to understand the request.
Announcements and fixes/features channels are generally better places to read official updates than to start unrelated support conversations. When in doubt, follow the channel description or pinned messages.
Staff applications
When RexiMemo is recruiting, applications are handled in #📝-applications. Current or recent application types include Site + Discord Moderator, Discord-only Moderator and a smaller number of Developer positions. Availability can change, so check the pinned application post before applying.
Applications are public in that channel. Do not reply to, judge or argue about somebody else's application; leave evaluation to existing staff. Moderator applicants must be 18 or over. The application template asks about your Discord/RexiMemo usernames, timezone and availability, why you want to help, how you would handle moderation situations, and—if applying as a developer—your Python/Flipnote/DSi experience and relevant projects.
Because applications are public, only include information you are comfortable publishing to server members. You do not need to post private identity documents, personal photographs or code samples that reveal private information. You can see the current public RexiMemo staff on the About page.
Linking Discord to RexiMemo
Joining the server does not automatically link your Discord identity to your RexiMemo account. Account linking is optional and is started from Settings → Connections. RexiMemo then asks you to approve or deny the request through its Discord verification flow. See Our Discord Bot for the exact linking steps and a full description of the integration.
Privacy and Discord
Discord is a separate third-party service with its own terms and privacy practices. Information you post in Discord is processed by Discord as well as being visible according to the server/channel permissions. RexiMemo's website can also display public Discord server presence information in its community widgets. For details about RexiMemo's own handling of data and Discord integrations, read the Privacy Policy.
