RexiMemo has a separate migration flow for Flipnotes recovered from the original Flipnote Hatena service. Use this when you want surviving Flipnotes from your old Flipnote Studio account added to your RexiMemo account.
Before you start
You need the 16-character Flipnote Studio ID (FSID) used by the DSi account whose old Hatena Flipnotes you want to recover.
Flipnote Hatena archive coverage is incomplete. RexiMemo may find only some of the Flipnotes that were once on the account, or it may find none at all.
Submit a Hatena migration request
- Sign in to RexiMemo on the website.
- Open Settings → Hatena Migrations.
- Enter the original Flipnote Studio FSID and choose Check archived Flipnotes.
- RexiMemo will show the surviving archived Flipnotes it can currently locate for that FSID. Review the thumbnails and archive IDs, then select the Flipnotes you want to recover. You can use Select all or Select none to make a large list easier to manage.
- Confirm the recovered-Flipnote lock notice and submit the migration request.
Some requests can be processed immediately. Others need staff review before anything is imported. If review is required, the request remains in Hatena Migrations until staff makes a decision.
After approval
Approved recovered Flipnotes are added to your RexiMemo account as public archival Flipnotes. They are placed in the Recovered from Flipnote Hatena channel on web, or Recovered from Hatena under Other Channels on DSi.
They do not appear in the global Browse or recent-upload feeds, and they are placed after your normal Flipnotes in your Creator's Room.
Recovered Hatena Flipnotes stay locked. They can only be opened in the Flipnote Editor by an account that has that Flipnote's creator FSID linked.
Titles and descriptions
RexiMemo's current text rules also apply to recovered Flipnotes. Curse words and URLs are not allowed in Flipnote titles or descriptions.
If archived text needs to be corrected after staff approves the migration, RexiMemo will notify you and direct you to the website controls where the affected title or description can be edited. Complete any requested text edits there.
What is not migrated?
The original Flipnote Hatena service data is not recreated. Hatena stars, comments and other old service activity are not transferred to RexiMemo. Only the surviving Flipnote content RexiMemo can locate and recover is considered for migration.
Hatena migration is intended for recovering Flipnotes from an original account that belonged to you. If RexiMemo needs more information before importing a request, staff may hold it for review.
