The built-in Sensitive 16+ channel is RexiMemo's age-restricted area for Flipnotes that are allowed on RexiMemo but may be distressing or mature enough that they should not appear in the normal discovery areas.
You must be signed in to a RexiMemo account with a Date of Birth showing that you are 16 or older to browse, watch or post to Sensitive 16+. RexiMemo's overall minimum age remains 13.
What belongs in Sensitive 16+?
Placement depends on the whole Flipnote, including its subject, intensity, context and presentation. Material that may be moved to Sensitive 16+ includes:
- non-graphic depictions or discussion of self-harm or self-inflicted wounds;
- suicide-related themes that do not encourage, instruct or provide methods for self-harm or suicide;
- non-graphic blood, wounds or injury that is too distressing for the normal Browse feed;
- disturbing violence, horror or medical themes that remain below RexiMemo's prohibited realistic/graphic-content threshold;
- other mature or potentially distressing material that moderators reasonably determine should be age-restricted.
This is a classification guide, not a complete list. Moderators can consider context and the overall presentation rather than relying on one isolated frame or word.
What is still prohibited?
Sensitive 16+ is not a loophole around the Terms of Use. Content that is prohibited on RexiMemo remains prohibited in Sensitive 16+. This includes pornography or sexually explicit content, sexual or exploitative material involving minors, prohibited realistic or graphic gore or serious bodily injury, realistic medical distress, and content that encourages, promotes or provides instructions or methods for suicide or self-harm.

Why Sensitive 16+ does not appear in Browse
Flipnotes in Sensitive 16+ are deliberately excluded from the normal Flipnotes Browse feed on both the RexiMemo website and Flipnote Studio. That includes the general Popular, Hot, Latest and Most starred listings. Eligible users can still open Sensitive 16+ directly from the Channels area.
Direct access to a Sensitive 16+ Flipnote is also subject to the age restriction. Moving a Flipnote into the channel therefore changes who can access it even if its public link or creator association remains the same.
Setting your Date of Birth
Open Settings → Date of Birth on the website. Your Date of Birth is private: it is not displayed in your Creator's Room, on Flipnotes, or to other users. RexiMemo uses the date you provide to calculate whether your account meets an age requirement; this is an access-control check and is not independent identity or age verification.
- First save: choosing your Date of Birth for the first time does not use a change.
- One correction: after it has been set, you may change it one time yourself.
- After that: the Date of Birth control is locked. If the stored date is genuinely incorrect, contact RexiMemo support rather than creating another account or entering a false date.
- Minimum service age: RexiMemo will not accept a Date of Birth that makes the account younger than 13, because RexiMemo accounts are for users aged 13 and over.
Do not deliberately enter a false Date of Birth to get around an age restriction. If you use RexiMemo through Flipnote Studio, set the Date of Birth on the website first; the DSi side uses the same RexiMemo account and eligibility.
What happens when your age changes?
Eligibility is calculated from the stored Date of Birth, so an account becomes eligible automatically when it reaches age 16. If a corrected date makes the account younger than 16, Sensitive 16+ access is removed immediately.
Posting and moderator moves
You must meet the 16+ requirement to post a new Flipnote into Sensitive 16+ or move your own existing Flipnote there. Creators aged 16 or over should use Sensitive 16+ for new content that falls within the classification above.
Moderators may also move an existing Flipnote into Sensitive 16+, including an older Flipnote uploaded before the channel existed. A move into Sensitive 16+ is a classification action by itself, not automatically a warning, strike or account penalty. If the Flipnote separately breaks the Terms, staff may also remove it or take other moderation action.
If you believe a Sensitive 16+ Flipnote breaks the rules, use the normal report tools. If your Date of Birth is wrong and you have already used your one self-service correction, contact the official RexiMemo support server for help.
